about

Mysterious Traveller is the definitive collection of tracks made by the collaboration of System 7 and Derrick May, now released for the first time on Bandcamp, with an exclusive additional bonus track 12 Mysterious Traveller (I Travel Mix).

Mysterious Traveller documents a unique collaborative techno relationship between Detroit pioneer Derrick May and System 7’s Steve Hillage and Miquette Giraudy. This combination first worked together in 1990, meeting through Virgin’s 10 Records label. This release is a compilation of all the tracks System 7 have made with Derrick May including previously unreleased material, remixes and remastered versions of the originals.

Also included is Derrick May’s own “Icon (Montage Mix)” made under his Rhythim is Rhythim name.

As well as some hard driving beats Mysterious Traveller also has dreamy textures, all imbued with Derrick May’s unique Detroit techno style.

"All the tracks have that wonderful mayday sound. Basically, this is a load of Derrick May tracks written at his prime - pure techno heaven. This is the best album I own. Buy it!" rosscoe0207
