about

'Planet 7' was the single release from System 7's 2004 album Encantado.

The single, which was 12" vinyl only, featured two outstanding remixes, the first in typically quirky style by the young and highly influential UK psychedelic house DJ James Holden, and the second by Swedish progressive psytrance stars Son Kite. Both these tracks were club hits.

For the Digital release of Planet 7, these two mixes were combined with some other gems that had not hitherto been fully released, perfectly representing the dancefloor sound of System 7, and displaying how their style occupies the space where progressive house, techno and psytrance meet.

“Love Mission – Mission Love” and “I Move” are new System 7 tracks from 2005.

“Teotihuacan” and “Om Rock” are tracks made a few years previously that still sound fresh, and the Advent remix of “Ring of Fire” brings out the techno side of System 7’s sound.

Finally “Gliding on Duotone Curves” is a spaced out new edit of an unreleased alternative mix made by producer and psy-trance legend Youth, who is also the co-writer of this track.
